You can get odds of 6/1 at Blue Square on the 6-year-old Jonjo O’Neill trained horse. It won last time out, but the long odds reflect the difficulty in making an impact in a 21 horse field.

But with 6/1 odds it’s hard to see past Mister Hyde and as long as the race doesn’t turn into a horror show, A P McCoy should be parading in the winners enclosure and you’ll be patting the wad of notes in your wallet.

The race, which will be screened live on BBC2 if it beats the winter weather, has a full field of 20 runners over the 3m 5f course with the going expected to be soft.

McCoy, who has 15 jumps wins under his belt, will look to get the best out of the JP McManus horse, which has finished 5^th and 6^th in its last two outings.

“Jonjo (O’Neill, the horse’s trainer) seems quite happy with him and hopefully the weather will be alright for him. He’s pretty adaptable on that front,” McManus’s racing manager Frank Berry told Racing Web.

“He’ll have his share of weight which is a pity but there’s nothing we can do about that.”

Maktu, at 6/1 with Paddy Power, could be a better pick to take the Welsh National with Dance Island also up there at 8/1 with William Hill.

His trainer, Ben Case, told Racing Web: “He likes the ground at Chepstow, he’s won over hurdles round there and he’s off a nice racing weight and is still improving.”

Watamu Bay is at 10/1 with VC Bet while you can get odds of 14/1 on Silver By Nature and Dream Alliance at Blue Square.

Exmoor Ranger, Arbor Supreme and Giles Cross are 16/1 shots with William Hill and a clutch of horses are around 20/1 including I’moncloudnine, Old Benny, Ballyfoy and Ballyfitz.

The betting runs out to 66/1 with Eric’s Charm the least fancied of the pack at Blue Square.

NJ Henderson’s 5 year-old has won on his last four outings and is 5/1 at William Hill to lift the £84,495 pot in the 2m race.

There are a clutch of decent horses in the mid-range of this Class 1 meet that could all pull off something of a surprise including Recession Proof at 20/1 with Boyle Sports, Tito Bustillo also at 20/1 at William Hill and Karasenir out at 33/1 at William Hill.

The 7-year-old Clive Smith horse is odds on at 4/5 at William Hill to take the race, which will be televised live on Channel 4.

The going is good to soft for the 2m110y race and Master Minded has his eyes on the £34, 206 winners’ purse after romping home by 16 lengths in his last ride at Ascot on the 20^th November.

Jockey AP MCoy is riding him out this time and he will face competition from Gauvain. But at 13/2 at Blue Square, it looks like the bookies can only see the French-bred Paul Nicholls trained Master Minded taking this one.

Twist Magic is 6/1 at Paddy Power and Kalahari King 8/1 at Blue Square, and either could spring a surprise.

Somersby is 8/1 at William Hill with Petit Robin also eights at Ladbrokes to complete the middle pack.

I’m so Lucky is 16/1 at Paddy Power, Oiseau de Nuit is 50/1 at Blue Square and Mahogany Blaze is 66/1 at Bet365.

Kinkeel is the long shot that completes the runners with a bumper 500/1 price at William Hill.
